The Encode Framework for Note Making

The ENCODE framework gives you the steps to follow when you encounter new things. It was designed by Nick Milo as part of his Linking Your Thinking framework for helping to structure and understand new ideas and then go on to actually use them, rather than just capturing them. It helps you to notice when something peaks your interest and then actually do something with it.
It's a way to stop the moments we all have too often when we encounter something new and interesting but don't do anything about it.

Encounter - Notice something.
Note - Write a quick note so you don't forget it.
Connect - Try to connect it to other ideas/concepts you already know and/or have notes on.
Organise - Put it somewhere sensible so you can find it again. Does it sit with other ideas?
Develop - Expand on the note, why is it important?
Express - Add your own take on the idea/concept.

This is an expansion of the CODE Framework and can be used with the Idea Compass.
